About Wendy
Like many women, I was blindsided by the intense and unexpected changes that began to disrupt my life. Severe anxiety, sleeplessness, and other unsettling symptoms left me feeling disconnected from my own body. At the time, I didn't even know what perimenopause was – like most women, I had an incomplete understanding of menopause and found myself scrambling for answers as my symptoms worsened.
The discovery that I was experiencing perimenopause brought some clarity, but it didn't provide the solutions I needed to manage my health and well-being. A turning point came when I finally found a healthcare practitioner who not only understood what I was experiencing but also validated my concerns. After years of feeling dismissed, being heard and understood was a monumental relief.
This profound personal experience, combined with the realization of how little awareness exists around this subject, led me to make a change in my life. Driven by a life-long interest in nutrition and its impact on our biochemistry and body functions, I decided to pursue formal education in the field. I completed my Master's of Science in Nutrition, focusing specifically on women's health, with an emphasis on perimenopause and menopause. Throughout my studies, I immersed myself in evidence-based research, exploring interventions that could make a real difference in managing the symptoms and risks associated with this phase of life.
Today, my passion for women's health stems from this deeply personal journey. I aim to be for other women what my healthcare practitioner was for me—someone who listens, understands, and guides them toward better health and wellness during this significant life transition.
